KARAIKAL

Karaikal town is situated 16 km north of Nagapattinam, on the Koromandal coast under the Union Territory of Puducherry. The town is witnessing a significant change in terms of infrastructure development. These developmental efforts aim to catapult Karaikal as a major coastal town along the east coast of India.

The extent of above mentioned efforts may be gauged by the fact that Master Plan for Karaikal, among other infrastructure development, includes port development, improving the rail connectivity and development of airport at Karaikal. Many of the envisaged developments are already underway and development of the port is one of most significant initiatives.
