Karaikal Port achieved the best average discharge rate per day of 27000 tonnes of fertilizer cargo. The fertilizer (Muriate of Potash) was imported by Indian Potash Limited (IPL) through Supramax vessel with a shipment size of 40,000 tonnes.

Karaikal Port berthed its first Bitumen Cargo vessel MV Asphalt Alliance this month.
